On this episode of Virtual Happy Hour, we're joined by Jake Schinker, Co-Founder and Brand Director of Eagle Park Brewing & Distilling Company, and Joel Frieders, Partnerships & Policy Director at Hope For The Day. We'll discuss their "Things We Don't Say IPA", a collective brewing campaign with a mission to smash the stigma surrounding mental health. Joel Frieders is the Strategic Partnerships Director at Hope For The Day, a nonprofit based in Chicago, providing clinically-backed, peer-led mental health education as a form of proactive suicide prevention. In addition to working with companies across the country to deliver education, Joel works to empower businesses in every industry to publicly activate their community on the importance of mental health through unique and impactful promotional and product-based partnerships. Joel's focus in the service and craft beer industries include working with 86 The Silence, Hope For The Day's food and beverage mental health education platform, and most recently with the Things We Don't Say IPA: Craft Beer For Mental Health project. This collaborative brewing project saw nearly 200 breweries in 8 countries break the silence about their mental health by starting the conversation about the things we don't say.
