If this beer were a dinner jacket, it would be a waspy corduroy blazer equipped with elbow pads and large buttons. Let this beer warm up a tad to enjoy it’s big-body malt complexity. Though hops were used in this beer, this beer is all about the malt. Sweet malt like Caramel and Viennas were used in conjunction with a dark, bitter Carafa malts. Oats and biscuit malt were also incorporated in the mash to ensure a velvet smooth interaction of bitter and sweet. Enjoy the moderate warming bite Sir Doppelbock will also give you on a cold winter night!

This funky, German ale has a thick body due to the large portion of wheat used in the malt bill. There is a considerable, yet approachable lactic acid sourness that complements the beer’s solid wheat backbone. Coriander was added after fermentation to deliver a zesty, lemon, citrus spice vibe on the nose. Sea salt was added prior to fermentation as well to offset an overbearingly sweet flavor.

Our stronger version of the Pilsner. This style, also known as a Dortmunder, is a brilliant gold color. This beer was fun to brew because we used a Czech Pilsner floor malt as our base malt. The “floor malt” relates to the old way of germinating the barley kernel during the malting process by hand spreading the malt across the floor then manually turning the malt every hour or so with rakes and shovels. Modern technology has allowed maltsters to automate the malting process making modern malt very well modified and clean in flavor.

See if you can taste the difference between our standard TKR Pilsner and the Export. You may find the Export has more earthy tones with notes of biscuit and honey because of the floor malt. Read Less
