Kyara is the Japanese word for a deep golden brown color tinged with red, and gives its name to this beer of the same hue. Aromatic hops carry notes of white grapes and spicy citrus, while a fresh, clean bitterness unfolds on the palate. Six different malts are combined with a slightly higher than average alcohol content, bringing a more expansive flavor to this well-rounded, medium-bodied brew. Yeasts selected specifically for their ability to bring out sweet aromas from the wheat are complemented by fruity notes for a rich yet refreshing brew that is smooth on the tongue and goes down with a flourish. A saison brewed with Japanese plums & perilla and aged in New Zealand chardonnay barrels.

Three breweries from three points on the compass— Garage Project, from Wellington NZ, Stone from the U.S. West Coast and Tokyo’s Coedo —bring their combined experience, creativity and inspiration to this utterly unique collaborative brew. Tsuyu, named after the gentle “plum rain” that falls in Japan as the ume harvest ripens, is a new take on the saison style. Brewed with American Jarrylo and New Zealand Motueka hops, Tsuyu is infused with ume plums and red perilla leaf and aged in freshly emptied New Zealand chardonnay barrels. The result is a complex and fascinating fusion of East, West and South.

透き通ったゴールドベージュに、ドライな飲み口と強い炭酸、イースト由来のエステルと5種類のホップにより奏でられるフルーティな味わいと幾重にも重なった華やかなアロマが特徴のIPAです。新たなビアスタイルとして注目されているBrut IPAを、日本を感じられるような素材やイメージを付加して醸造すべく、清酒、味噌、醤油などの日本の伝統的な発酵食品の要である麹菌を使用することに辿り着きました。米麹を使用することにより、モルトのデンプンを徹底的に糖化し、ビールに含まれる糖を最大限発酵させた限りなくドライな、Japanese Brut IPAに仕上がりました。

浮世絵職人の文化的で高度な技術を後世に伝承すべく、創造性豊かな、その生きた表現技法を現代に伝える｢UKIYO-E PROJECT｣とのコラボレーション。私たちのはじまりの地、川越のシンボルである｢時の鐘｣をモチーフに、2つの時間｢快晴｣と｢夕暮｣を切り取った浮世絵を、絵師：マテウシュ･ウルバノヴィチ氏、彫師：三代目関岡扇令氏、摺師：伊藤達也氏が制作し、完成した浮世絵と、UKIYO-E PROJECTの取り組みやコンセプトからインスピレーションを得て、COEDOブルワーである似内彬人氏がレシピを書き下ろし、4人の職人によるオリジナリティあふれる”Japanese Style Brut IPA”が完成しました。350mlの缶仕様となっており、ラベルデザインには今回制作された2つの時間の浮世絵｢快晴｣｢夕暮｣を一枚のラベルに落とし込みました。時間帯問わず、キレとホップアロマが香るビールをゆっくりと味わいながら、川越のひと時の夏に思いを馳せる時間を、350ml缶でお楽しみいただけます。透き通った黄金色に5種類のホップと柚子からなる重層的な香りと味わいが口の中で弾け、米麹を使用することによってドライで軽やかな飲み口に仕上げたJapanese style Brut IPA です。
