In our 25+ year-long devotion to hops, one flavor-fueled fantasy we instigate from time to time is the pairing of two unusual varietals to see what tastes they breed.

It's all intrinsic to our special StereoHopic Series, where each "volume" represents the brewed blending of the piquant, nuanced flavors only hops can transmit.

In Vol. 2, we gleefully chased full-on contrast when we joined the elusive Alsatian Elixir hop, known for its notes of tobacco, leather and red wine grape, with the velvety, floral-tinged personality of Yakima's dignified Loral hop. Polarity was a given, but how would this particular pairing play out?

The brew that ensued is an unexpected, lupulin-laced dimension that's equal parts perplexing to the palate, and robust with its full-on hop bouquet of flavors. Tasty? Yep. Unforgettable? Absolutely.
