NFL Week 13 In Review Meets Untappd Data

Responsive image

We had another extended slate due to games being shifted around due to COVID-19, but that didn't slow the Untappd community down one bit! In a 10 mile radius around each stadium, Week 13 totaled the second-most check-ins since we started tracking back in Week 8. Additionally, there were five cities that saw an increase in check-ins of 30 percent or higher compared to the week prior. Those cities were Nashville, Cincinnati, Chicago, Kansas City and Denver!

Each week, we'll take a look at the previous week of games, and take a look at the intersection of Untappd check-ins and data and NFL teams, cities and stadiums! Whether your team wins or loses, join in on the fun!

Top City

For the first time in quite awhile, a city not named New York led the way in check-ins. The switch to Mitch Trubisky at quarterback must have done something to Chicago, because there were over 3,700 check-ins within a 10 mile radius of the stadium on Sunday! It was a 30 percent increase from last week, and while the Bears took the loss against Detroit, they took home this crown. The Bears diversified their game plan by throwing it 34 times and running it 31 times, and the city has diversified their beer styles over the last two or so weeks. During that time frame, the top four most checked-in beers are different styles!

Top Stadium

For the third time this season, Arrowhead Stadium leads the way in check-ins. It's the first time since Week 8 that Kansas City has taken the crown, and they are a perfect 3-0 when leading all stadiums in check-ins. In Kansas City over the last two weeks, the top seven most consumed beers are all different styles. Kansas City is switching it up even more than Chicago! That happens on the field, too. Have you seen the offensive mastermind Andy Reid at work!? Two of the more popular beers in the area of late sound like play calls for the Chiefs.

This has Tyreek Hill streaking down the field for a 70-yard touchdown written all over it.

Monday Night Recap

The undefeated Steelers took their first loss on Monday evening at the hands of the Washington Football Team. Alex Smith continues his improbable, and impressive, return from a life-altering injury a few years back and has this Washington offense putting points on the board. In reality, beating the Steelers is no easy task, but on the Untappd gridiron, it's even tougher. Pittsburgh boasts a strong Untappd presence, and they recorded over twice as many check-ins as Landover, MD.

A Chiefs fan paying respect to her former quarterback. You love to see it!

What a game it was on Monday night! Josh Allen went for 375 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Bills over the 49ers in Arizona 34-24. The 49ers bested the Bills in terms of Untappd check-ins, but Bills Mafia can celebrate the Monday night win.

Tuesday Night Recap

With Lamar Jackson back under center for the Ravens, they emerged victorious on Tuesday night with a 34-17 shellacking of the Dallas Cowboys. Not only did Baltimore double Dallas on the field in terms of points scored, but their city did as well on the Untappd gridiron. It was a clean sweep for Baltimore on Tuesday night.

Couldn't agree more! In an obvious "don't get beat deep situation," the amount of beer left in your can, amount of safeties 20+ yards back, and number of wins for the Jets was the same. None.

The Chiefs did drop a bomb on the Broncos. However, it was ruled an incomplete pass but further review showed that Tyreek Hill actually caught it! Chiefs still won though!

Another new beer for you equals another Kansas City win!

Appreciate the Texans love! When you watch the Texans defense, that mid-afternoon coffee tends to turn into a belgian tripel!

It's tough being an Eagles fan this year. Questions at quarterback and the losses are piling up, almost as tall as this Christmas tree!
