With just shy of two million check-ins, "Imperial / Double" stouts ranked as the seventh highest beer style on Untappd in 2021. And for good reason. Recognized for its rich, strong style, the imperial stout typically pours black in color with a sweet, malty profile. And lately these imperial versions have just become boozier, darker, and more indulgent.

Some of the highest-rated versions on the app include: Goose Island's Bourbon County Brand Reserve Blanton's Stout (2021), Dogfish Head's Utopias Barrel-Aged World Wide Stout (2021), and Perennial Artisan Ales' Abraxas.
