We're pleased to announce a new initiative here at Untappd: the Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee.

The DISC was formed with the objective of channeling our energies into creating solutions that provide education and foster opportunities of growth for groups that are underrepresented in the beer and technology sectors, ensuring that everyone within the company and our industry has the opportunity to be seen, heard, and valued.

Our goal is to make necessary training and mentorships available and accessible, to contribute financial support to organizations that provide services and education, and to identify ways we can all work together to make diversity and inclusion a more seamless practice in our workplaces.

What does diversity and inclusion mean to us? Our foundation is rooted in four guiding principles:

Equality

We affirm that all humans deserve the same rights, opportunities, resources, and protections as everyone else. Taking into consideration all the ways that we are different from each other, we encourage and accept the fact that every person's "normal" is defined individually and that there is value to be found in all perspectives.

Pride

We advocate for and promote self-affirmation, dignity, and equal rights for members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Pride celebrates acceptance and the freedom to be fearlessly true to ourselves while supporting others' right to do the same.

Empowerment

We uplift women in their quest to have their voices heard and respected as equals. Everyone's experiences and aspirations should be given the same consideration; no one's rights, responsibilities, or opportunities should depend on their gender.

Justice

We uphold the idea that we are all equally born with the right to dignity and to receive protection from the harm caused by discrimination, whether mental or physical. Every human being has the right to a fair and unbiased relationship between themselves and the members and laws of the society they live in.

In celebration of these tenets, we selected four artists to provide us with designs depicting each of our four guiding principles. 100% of the profits from the sale of merchandise in the Untappd store featuring this artwork collection will go directly towards funding the projects and organizations that will make our community a better place for all.
