Brew a Beer, Drink a Beer, Celebrate International Women’s Day

Celebrate women and non-binary folx in craft beer! Every year the Pink Boots Society (PBS) hosts Collaboration Brew Day® where teams come together to brew a collab beer that supports the PBS mission to support, inspire, and encourage the professional development of women and non-binary people in the industry.
Often scheduled in connection with International Women's Day on March 8th, this unique initiative inspires and empowers women and non-binary brewers, consumers, fans, and others to enjoy something they all love—beer.
This year, to earn the International Women's Day badge: Check-in any one (1) beverage from March 8, 2023, to March 12, 2023.
What Is the Pink Boots Society?

First formed by Teri Fahrendort in 2007, the PBS is the premier non-profit professional organization in the world "seeking to ASSIST, INSPIRE, and ENCOURAGE women and non-binary individuals in the fermented /alcoholic beverage industry through EDUCATION," according to the PBS website.
For the last fifteen-plus years the PBS has grown with chapters popping up in cities all across the country (85 chapters and over 2,000 members), engaging women and non-binary folx at all levels of their brewing careers.
Whether that's through conferences and events, scholarships, or campaigns like the Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day.
What Is the Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day?

Each year breweries from across the country participate in the Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day, an initiative that brings together women and non-binary folx to brew a beer with a special blend of hops from Yakima Chief Hops.
Registering for the hop blend, a mix of hops traditionally chosen each year by women and non-binary people during the Great American Beer Festival, means a commitment to donate a portion of the proceeds back to the PBS.
According to the PBS, past donations have helped fund over eighty-five scholarships in support of their mission.
All told, this day usually ends up being the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Pink Boots Society.
How Can You Participate?
There are two ways you can participate in this year's Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day:
1. Check on the PBS map to find one of this year's participating breweries around the world, visit one (or more!), and drink a collab beer.
2. Donate!
Overall, the work to create a more equitable, inclusive craft beer industry does not end with one collaboration beer. Or one month of celebrating women. Or one single organization. But groups like the Pink Boots Society help bring more attention to and offer meaningful support for a group of industry professionals who are largely ignored.
