Big Rock Brewery 35th Anniversary
In 1985, Ed McNally took a risk and among a sea of yellow lagers brought forward the first wave of craft beer in Canada. To celebrate 35 years of bringing award-winning beer to Alberta, and now Canada, Big Rock Brewery has released a Classics pack as an 'Ode to Ed'. Ed McNally was a farmer, lawyer, and avid outdoorsman.
This pack includes the four beers that we believe to best embody Ed and the vision he had for Big Rock: A true original in the Traditional Ale, brewed to get people's attention and celebrate the personality barley can lend to beer. McNally's Extra, an Irish Red noted as one of the best in the New World Guide to Beer. One to pair with something Ed loved – fishing, the Royal Coachman was created to prove that light beer can still have great flavour. The Canvasback Ale, an ale to bring awareness to habitat loss resulting in a decline in the King of Ducks.
Ed started a legacy that has grown into Canada's largest independent craft brewery, so join us in raising one to him.
