Zembla

The Baltic Porter is a very robust Porter brewed to fight off the harsh winters of the 18th and 19th century Baltic trade routes. When thinking of the Baltic region we made the connection to Zembla—the imaginary country that Pale Fire’s infamously mad narrator creates and attempts to foist upon his poet neighbor. Unlike the fictional Zembla in Pale Fire, the Islands Nova Zembla are real and have come to symbolize the extreme unchartered north.

Rich, smooth and easy drinking—that’s how we like our Porters! The carbonation in our Baltic Porter helps give the beer a cherry and raisin nose followed by a touch of coffee. Full of luscious chocolate flavors followed by the distinct impression of raisins and dates lingering on the pallet. The use of brewers salts help cleanse the roasted malt flavors from the palate and keep this beer drinkable. Show Less
