I love old fashioned's, and I love beer, and this was well executed but wasn't my thing... Love that the bourbon and bitters came through, maybe the dark ale base isnt my preference.

It's the right amount of sweet, and it hits you at the end. Pays respectful homage to the old fashioned but without trying so hard it just ends up gross. Also I would not have realized it was 9% unless I read the can. This is a good thing.

soft hazelnut and caramel on the nose but that's really pushing it. Flavour is boozy orange zest, cloying caramel, slight maltiness, definitely reminiscent of an old fashioned but a bad one. Okay for the alcohol level but still a little overbearing.
