Prison of Elders

We tasted through multiple batches of old ales that had been resting in small format rye whiskey barrels over the past year. Some of those batches were blended and transferred into a freshly-dumped Heaven Hill rye whiskey barrel for an additional year of aging (for a hopeful double-barrel release next year.) The rest was blended to taste and bottled for this release.

Notes of toffee, molasses, caramel and subtle hints of dark fruit complement the commanding presence of rye whiskey and oak from the beer’s time in the barrel. Show Less
