Barrel Aged Series: Abbaye De Gembloux

We brewed a unique Abbey Lager style, Abbaye de Gembloux, in collaboration with Belgian brewer, Antoine Malingret, to serve at the Belgian Consulate's visit to Uncle Billy's during SXSW. Head brewer, Stephen Wagner, squirreled away some of this Abbey-style Tripel brewed with Pilsner yeast, and barrel aged it for 7 weeks in Uncle Billy’s Bourbon barrels. Oh man, this is a damn good beer. It has loads of sweet bourbon on the nose, followed by biscuity flavors mingle with delicate hop spiciness. It’s a complex, full-bodied beer with a boozy backbone that finishes refreshingly dry. You gotta try this paradoxical dichotomy of sensations. Show Less
