Farmhouse

Highly complex, refreshing, rustic, and elegant, farmhouse ale is one of our favorite styles. Tumbleroot’s version of this age-old brew is grandchild to the rustic, artisanal ales brewed on small family farms in Wallonia, the French speaking part of Belgium. In the spirit of those traditional provision beers, we brew our Farmhouse with a variety of grains. We use organic barley, wheat, and rye and add a generous dose of organic noble hops for a spicy and floral aroma and flavor. Our farmhouse is fermented clean, meaning we don’t add “wild” yeast. The black pepper and citrus notes and the super dry finish come from a traditional strain of French saison yeast.
