First Snow

While technically it hasn’t snowed yet, this one is ready for any celebration, even one as simple as a cold, clear, quiet night.

A certain West Coast beer that releases annually around this time of year, has always had an incredibly special and profound grip on the entire production team. Our shared appreciation for what might be the oldest continually brewed American IPA damn near boils over, as it were, during these cooler weather months. Constant discussions of when it was being released, where it could be found, and how it tastes this year, always seems to reignite our collective interest in brewing.

Fermented with our preferred Chico Ale yeast variant for that clean “C” hop and malt expressive character, this was a key piece of the clone correct puzzle. If you haven’t figured out what we’ve adoringly attempted to do by now, ask a friend who knows. If imitation is a form of flattery, consider us guilty as charged.

We notice impressions of fresh cut Christmas tree, grapefruit rind, sweet orange citrus oil, and clean caramel reinforced with a softer level of PNW varietal derived hop bitterness. Show Less
