The barrel created a fruity initial flavor. It becomes a mixture of caramel, spice and port wine afterwards. It feels like the barrel flavor is too strong, probably because it’s a Doppelbock and not something hardier. I still like it though

Caramel comes thru fairly strong- seems smooth to me for 14.8% abv - a little coffee is coming thru as it warms up- hints of whiskey lurking in the flavor
