Top Sail Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Porter (2012)

SFLN (science from last night). Took some doing but tracked the right one down. Mike’s cellar continues to shock and amaze. Showed some minor signs it’s on the way to infection but was enjoyable no less. The bottom half cuvéed with péché was immense.

Very little carbonation left. Still smells great. Tastes pretty good, but very mellow compared to what I remember. Mouth feel is also lighter than I remember, I probably should have gently turned it a few times before opening.

Got a lot better. The barrel notes still present. Very good porter.

Oxidized but still doing OK. All the dark malt is still there, licorice and molasses. There's a big dark/dried cherry character throughout. Drinks big, I swore this was 12% and was reminded it was only 9.5%.
