With ex BBC workmates Bill & Simon in Doncaster. 1086 Brewery has a tie in here and this ale is a regular visitor. It's grown on me. It is a very tasty pale ale. Slightly hoppy but ok

City of Doncaster with Bill & Simon. Good IPA Cask of course Karl M. ! No Royal visits in this area as we know, so wonder why the 2 Royal train locos are parked together in Donny Station?

Steve K: And because of cutbacks, the DB locos are required to haul freight when not in use, like a normal freight loco. And...
Steve K: ... They buzz around in G-XXEB that flies over my house a bit too often still using QF1 as the callsign. Ought to change it to KF1.
Norman Wigley: Steve K. Thanks for the info Steve. I knew that they were employed separately on normal duties most of the time, but was intrigued that they were sitting together
Steve K: Didn’t try to teach. Was a train spotter then joined BR in 1981. I often bore myself.
Norman Wigley: Steve K. My old late pal Dave and I were spotters from the late 1950s watching steam in places like Donny and Crewe.Great days. Once interested it stays with you for life although now more passive. Love little 'no hope' rlys like the LDECR and M&GNR

Doncaster with Bill. VG/C. Quite dark for an IPA but rich and full bodied. Good balance overall. I've found some good things from this brewery and this is another.
Norman Wigley: Stayed on for another. Surprised I enjoyed this so much...but I did. Keep me going if til time for bus to Worksop at 16.05
