Stout - Imperial / Double Coffee
To condition a stout on these beans is a high wire act where the malts and the oak must be in perfect balance. Leaning the malt bill to the sweeter, lighter roast side and restricting the time in oak to six months to impart a hint of vanilla keeps the divine light shining directly onto the coffee. Show Less
Nose is big smooth coffee, suggestions of cocoa and caramel. Lots of coffee in the mouth, but mellow. Plays a little sweet. Hints of vanilla and bourbon present. Roasty, burnt toast and caramel. Big, smooth and beautifully balanced. Great length. Nom!
