Very good big caramel sweetness with a bit of a spicy finish from the hops and bourbon barrel. Very good although there is a bit of astringency in the melding of the barrel character with the big caramel and dark fruit flavor.

Rating this as 3, though that’s generous. I get bourbon and brown sugar: not a bad thing. However, it’s neither a barrel-aged BW (as per how it’s advertised), nor a winter warmer (how it’s described on Untapped). I long for the Draai Laag days.
