Hot damn this one went the other way than the rye, it might be better than I remember, big and juicy with great bourbon, great stuff and closer to the db version

The sweetness level and viscosity leans imperial stout while the flavour profile leans predominantly barleywine. Lots of dark fruit, caramel and molasses with some roastier stout-like dark chocolate and espresso notes creaping in. Really nice.

5/2023 bottle, the last of the 4 I bought on release. I never got a chance to buy the rye barrel version, because they dropped these with no prior announcement at 4am my time, with no limits. 3 years on, this beer is still fantastic. Pours with a slim tan

Malt Does More: collar. Nose of bourbon, barrel, toffee, dark fruits (dates, faint prunes and raisins), and the palate follows, with a touch of molasses this time that was not there before. This aged better than I thought it would.

Malt Does More: Just noticed that, according to my records, this bottle was $30. There’s no way it would be anything less than $50 now.
Malt Does More: Shocking number of slugs at the bottom of the glass… Had to use a strainer to get them out and I’m now left with about 20 ML.
