Roasty. More char for me on this American styled approach to the style. A touch boozier and drier than the English style barleywine tasted back to back. A lovely beer all round.

A slightly muted nose compared to the English with oak, molasses and slight dried fruit, moderate body, a bit more carb but low, a more Belgian quad-like mid with toffee and dried fruit, moderate length finish with burnt sugar and alcohol
