Pre-Prohibition Lager

Before the teetotalers totally T’d off the clever and resourceful beer drinkers of these United States, the quintessential American lager was a little different than the one you drink today. Prior to the prohibition, American lagers had a little more heft to them in nearly every way; more robust grain and malt character, higher ABV, and significantly higher bitterness and hop aroma. Our offering of this amazing classic style is full of All-American flavor with a few nods to its relative the German Pilsner. Packed with American 6-Row barley and flaked corn, we added just a touch of German pilsner malt for some light malt sweetness. Hopped exclusively with US Crystal hops, expect classic German noble characteristics as well as some more modern American fruity and woodsy notes to go with a crisp and bracing bitterness. Show Less
