We teamed up with our friend Kevin Vincent from @newfoundsushiizakaya for a very creative and unique collaboration.
After coming up with the concept, Kevin joined us for a fun day at the brewery.
We began by 3-stage gelatinizing Newfound Sushi’s Japanese Rice under Kevin’s skillful eye.
Our common goal was to craft a delicate IPA (think session) that would pair with the proteins of fresh sushi and specifically Newfoundland seafood. This collaboration was fun, technical and challenging.
The result is a crisp smooth hybrid rice ale, which blurs several style guidelines, but sits at home in the Session IPA category. Rice is the star along with Sorachi Ace and Mosaic hops.
