Koo Vee: ..quite fast, though. What remains is a bit watery but still has fine port-like notes and a ghost of fat maltiness.

Don’t think it’s drinkable anymore but still thought I’d add it

As it warms the raisins and Christmas cake become more pronounced. Quite watery but for 45 years old it has lasted quite well.

Straight out of the bottle quite harsh with chemical notes but as it warms and opens up more raisin, cake, hints of spirit and earth, survived well for 45 years

Thx to Bryan B. for sharing this outstanding bottle. 45yo. almost no carbonation left. Nose of christmas cake with Star anis and raisins. Mild flavors of demarara, caramel and faint dark coffee. And still drinkable! Thats why it get 4 Stars!

45 y/o, no carbonation left, nose is christmas cake, a little absinthe, quite mild in flavour but still with a little bitterness, a demerara sweetness, a little thin bodied after all these years but still quite drinkable.

Beer from 1977. A bit oxidized, heavy with prunes, raisins and malts. Has not aged super well, but still drinkable.

Actually Courage from 1977, forced by Untappd to put here under Eagle. Relatively oxidized. A lot of old leather sofa. Faded fig and prune. The taste has thinned out, even if it still has initial raisin and dried fruit muscle. The swagger peters out ...

Koo Vee: I wish Untappd realized that the policy of preventing you from entering historical beers from acquired or defunct breweries serves no one. Just add a marker that the brewery is extinct, just like no longer produced beers. I do not understand the logic.

From 1977. Caramelized figs, old leather and some oxidized sherry notes. The body has thinned in the middle, but still possesses a sweet amber malt note that lingers. Even a bit of chocolate at the palate. Dusty figs at the edges. A feeling of great age.

Koo Vee: Managed to mangle the label when moving, but you can see it in other check-ins.

42 year old beer. Slight fizz on opening. Smooth as anything, boozy, like a ruby port with some root beer flavours in the background
