Barrel Reserve: Rose Hip Hibiscus Lager

This month’s Barrel Reserve features 2.6L of fresh rose hip and hibiscus tea immersed into the lager, aged in a first-time use merlot barrel.

The Rose Hip Hibiscus Lager appears rustic copper with a golden halo. Immediate notes of grape skin radiate from the dense off-white head before evolving into sweet candy, comparable to Swedish Berries. The beer enters the palate with a gentle acidity that quickly melds into a sweet berry medley. The fluffy, medium mouthfeel with flavours of strawberry shortcake provide a candy-like sweetness to the brew. This sweetness then falls away to reveal floral notes and a slight tannic finish from the oak barrel. Show Less
