A cousin of hefeweizen. This german style ale is brewed with a grist bill of malted rye, wheat, and barley. Using Idaho 7 leaf and pellet hops to give the beer a citrusy american twist and fermented with bavarian weizen yeast.
Coppery Orange color
Moderate rye malt spiciness and weizen yeast aroma and a medium body from double decoction mashing.
Flavor begins with a bit of caramel sweetness and then the rye almost pumpernickel characteristics take over giving it a dryer finish with a tangy aftertaste.
