Way to much tannins, my guess is that they used fresh oak cubes to replicate the bourbon barrel. (Update) one Beer Later let me know that for this beer a whole barrel was used and no chips or cubes.

Nick Paulissen: One Beer Later (Berăria Calul Bun) thanks for the invite. As soon as i am nearby i will visit. Maybe it was just a bad one. Unfortunally there were so much tannins that we couldn't finish the bottle. But I wil try another of your beers next time around.

Barley wine? Meer tripel IPA. Bourbon vaten komen door na de slok gevolgd door Tropisch fruit en citrus waarna bitter doorkomt. Aromas die zeer lang blijven. Voor 4,50 wel dik over de prijs. Dan koop ik liever een zeezuiper voor 1,75. Aankoop brouwerij.

Heavily hopped barley wine, which at times can easily be mistaken for an American IIPA. Perhaps it evolved in such manner, I don’t know; all I can say is that I’ve enjoyed it.
