Been in fridge for awhile. Thought "malt beverage brewed with redwood branches" would taste weird and resin-like. I was wrong. Nice malty "beer". Not a porter taste. Closer to scotch ale. Who knew Redwood branches were a good sub for hops!

I’ve been wanting to try this since I read about it in William Bostwick’s The Brewer’s Tale, long before it appeared in cans. Very malty amber ale; redwood tips are pretty subtle, but if there are no hops at all here, they’re definitely doing their job.
