Weissbier

Our traditional Weissbier (“White beer” in German) is made with malted wheat and malted barley (Weissbiers have to have a minimum of 50% malted wheat) to give it a distinctively light, smooth creaminess. The flavour of banana/cloves that is so prevalent in the beer comes from the German wheat beer yeast culture that we have imported for this brew. The yeast produces a number of fruit/spice flavours and is responsible for a large part of the character of this beer. Our beer is left unfiltered in the traditional style of “Hefe-weissbier” and the yeast contributes maximum flavour and creaminess to the beer. German varieties of hops are used in moderation to help dry out the beer without contributing any significant herbal or floral hop flavours. Show Less
