2016 Hopqua

Fresh off the hop bine from the Land of Umpqua, Hopqua is an IPA brewed with over nine pounds per barrel of fresh hops that were grown, picked and donated by several of our generous patrons at the Roseburg Station. This brew is pale in color with a substantial malt backbone from a variety of malts and rolled oats. Commercially grown Chinook Hops were used for bittering, Mosaic Hops for flavor and fresh homegrown hops were added late and after the boil to add fresh hop flavor and aroma. Another hop addition after the end of the boil contributes heavily to that lovely hoppy smell. All in all, 54 pounds of fresh homegrown hops were used to brew this batch of beer. So welcome the change of seasons and celebrate the harvest with a pint of Hopqua, and savor the flavor of the Land of Umpqua.
