My first full eisbock. Big aroma of dark fruit. Not much head, not a lot of carbonation (but it’s not flat). Doughy, bready malt character. Notes of chocolate, raisins, dates and brown sugar. Full bodied and boozy. Absolutely delicious.

Jim Moffat: Note: the US Gubmint considers freezing the beer and extracting the remaining liquid an act of distillation, so you can only get an eisbock from a brewery that has a distillery’s license. Maplewood does.
