Black Is Beautiful

We followed the recipe for this beer almost exactly as written by Weathered Souls Brewing, but we followed our water treatment process as well as added some of our favourite malt to the Grain-Bill, Smoked Beechwood malt from Bamburg, Germany. We decided to keep the alcohol content at 7% for this beer, and find the beer to have a deep and complex dark chocolate flavour, with a pronounced bitterness from the roasted chocolate malt and the single hop usage of Cascade hops - with subdued c02 the creaminess of the beer is more pronounced. The slight residual sweetness of the beer helps balance the bitterness and provides for an interesting taste journey as the beer is allowed to come to room temperature. This is a sipper :) Show Less
