I don't even know how to begin describing this. A cuvee of stout & barleywine, with oscillating flavors of vanilla, marshmallow, dark stone fruits, and chocolate. Just a touch is anise on the back end. Amazing.

2024 Vintage. Pure amber color, really cloudy (& I left a lot of gunk in the bottle). Tan foam. One of the most peculiar beers. I get red wine w/ strong raspberry & wood in the nose. Malt is cardboardy, like church wafers, w/ tart raspberry & brown sauce.

Kevin Alexeff: Thinking maybe I should have rotated the bottle & mixed in the gunk. No! That was intensely bitter cardboard. So, leaving it there was the right choice. This really was one of the most unique beers I ever tasted. Didn’t really come together as expected.

Kevin Alexeff: Brown sauce was the only thing I could think of to describe an underlying savory element. Definitely not soy sauce. But not quite Worcestershire sauce either. Tangy & mildly sweet with some peppery undertones, so brown sauce. Get it? In the background.
