Barrel Aged Belgian Sunday

This beer was brewed using yeast that originated in Belgium, on a Sunday. We think it makes a nice sipping beer, like you might enjoy on a Sunday afternoon or evening. The color comes nearly exclusively from the dark candi sugar. Traditionally, the cheapest sugar in Belgian breweries is candi or invert sugar. Here it is expensive due to import costs but it boosts potential alcohol, esters and flavors while finishing with a lighter body than an all malt brew of similar strength. The rye malt adds a nice spice in addition to the yeast. The beer was aged in old rum barrels. Show Less
