Toffee and marmalade upfront, really smooth. Becomes more boozy, mint and aniseed, finishing with cough syrup.

Fantastic. Paddington Bear would love the marmalade. Probably my highest rated beer that’s not Belgium or a stout

How can a beer 6 years old taste so good? Of course its not fresh but boy does it have character. I remember a bark chew style sweet which this beer reminds me of. It’s like sherry in an oak cask absolutely lovely and the perfect contrast to all this new.

Rich. Aroma: raisins, dates, figs, caramel, toffee brown sugar, sherry barrel vibes. On the taste it's sweet with rich marmalade, dried fruits, caramel, toffee & molasses. No oxidation with this bottle. Stunning overall, superb complexity. Thanks Kate

Super smooth. Raisin sweetness with some toffee in there too. So good. Can’t believe that this six year old bottle cost me a mere £5. Absolute bargain!

You can see why it's called barley wine. Rich, sweet, alcoholic kick. It's velvety, ester rich and almost grape /port like
