Am pleasantly surprised, I expected UK vs. US; decent bitterness at 4 yrs old, all that crème brûlée and caramel has a nice counterpoint at the end; it doesn’t finish dry, but it ain’t flabby or treacly either. All I can ask of a non-BA barley wine.

This is what I expect from American barleywine. Dark breads, molasses, Rolos. Good stuff!

Malt and booze on the nose. Taste is bright, mid-level acidity (even 4 years later). Sweet, light malt. Some underripe blackberry in there, bit of bitter hops. Drinks smoother than its booze. Solid.
