We have brewed this beer to mark 20 years of being a co-operative. We decided to brew a modern English Pale Ale using all we have learned over the years to produce a great cask beer with lots of flavour and body.
The beer is a mostly Pale Ale malt base and is hopped with 3 related varieties of hop. We have used Fuggles for bittering – a classic old English variety first discovered in 1861. We have paired that with 2 modern hop varieties for aroma and dry hopping – an experimental hop known simply as CF190 and Jester; both related to Fuggles.
The result is a 3.7%, full bodied cask ale with a clean, lingering bitterness and a “beery” palette that will satisfy both traditional drinkers and those who like a full-on hop flavour.
