To be fair, this should have been given a fair shake earlier - likely aged too long. Malty and sweet, but thin…and there’s an odd black olive note throughout. These Hermanns can and should be aged, but perhaps not for four years.

Very thin body and a slightly olive like briny note. There's some of the characteristic choco-cherry but it's fighting against some poor cellaring qualities.

30th anniversary edition, been sitting patiently in the cellar. This is the year the recipe changed. A little thinner, less sweet and, alas, not quite as age worthy. This has faded an is a little tart. Drink now before it goes off.
