Sweet, boozy, and malty, with a hoppy finish. Better than the 2014 I had a few months ago.
Purchased at Tavour

#cellaringInPlace thanks #tavour for another dud - dam american hoppy barleywine. Nose is hoppy. Nice reddish color with barrel influence. Slight sweetness, toned hoppyness on the palate. Boozy.

Beer Advent day 5: a scary looking Santa on a bourbon barrel aged barley wine. Still has some barrel notes, but should have drank 1-2 years ago.

Still holds up for overall flavor. However, still missing overall taste.
Dark, opaque, caramelly-colored, initial whiffs of card-boardy oxidation, settling into sweet, dark fruits, Vanilla, and woody aromas, big, soft, roasty, toffee, caramel, fig, and plum, more Vanilla, more wood, subtle Bourbon qualities. Thanks Caleb S.!
