For 16 years surprisingly smooth with a lot of coffee, dark chocolate, some licorice, vanilla and a woody, oakey finish. Oxidation is noticable but that doesn't take away from the fact that it's holding up very well.

Paired with the 2024 vanilla rye. Despite being a fifteen year old beer it was pretty well balanced and nice to drink. It was like a normal stout with vanilla notes compared to the flavor bomb of 24 VR.
