Why Can't I Be Turboman? (Blackland Distillery Collaboration)

We wanted to collaborate with a distillery, but we really didn’t want to simply ask for a barrel to throw a stout into. It was Collin’s idea (and it’s a great one at that) to brew a Witbier and use gin botanicals instead of the traditional coriander and orange peel. There is coriander and orange peel in this beer, of course ... but there’s also chamomile, juniper berries, and seven other botanicals and herbs. We can’t tell you what these botanicals and herbs are mostly because WE weren’t told ourselves. Apparently it’s a closely held secret and well ... that’s just ok with us. Coriander and chamomile stand out up front on the aroma while blood orange and wheat come gently through on the finish. It’s an easy drinking beer with low bitterness and great herbal and floral aromas. Fans of Gin are sure to enjoy this beer as well. Try it mixed with some tonic water!
