Coffee Is For Closers is a sweet, full-bodied "iced coffee" porter. If you're not familiar with where the name "Coffee is for Closers" originates, check out the legendary David Mamet movie Glengarry Glen Ross, particularly this scene! Anyway, back to the beer.
For us, "iced coffee porter" means that this beer -- with its healthy addition of lactose (milk sugar) -- is delicious in hot or cold weather. And, as you know...winter in the South is unpredictable, meaning that CIFC can fill a niche when it's 20 degrees or 60 degrees outside.
That addition of lactose lends a faintly sweet aroma with notes of roasted coffee beans, chocolate, toasted malt, and milk sugar. On the palate, the beer is smooth, with rich, mellow tones of coffee supported by a complex malt profile boasting layers of chocolate, caramel, and espresso. The beer finishes with semi-sweet, lingering chocolaty-coffee mouthfeel. Show Less
