C4 Imperial Black IPA

This American Black Ale marries the hopping and strength of an Imperial IPA (like Cloud Hopper) with the coffee and roast flavors of a porter or stout. The name C4 comes from a combination of the hops employed (Columbus, Centennial,and Citra are at the heart of this brew, along with a support role from Amarillo) and the debittered Carafa malt that gives this beer its dark, almost black appearance and aforementioned coffee-like flavors. There’s an explosion of flavor coming from themalt/hop combination, variously perceived as pine, grapefruit, orange and chocolate. This is a complex beer that is simultaneously brash and refined.
