John Doherty is drinking a Soul Rights by Fool Hardy Ales at The Hope
The aroma is fruity,solid and very sweet. So sweet it feels like haribo. The taste is weirdly cakey but broadly plumy. Everything is up-front and solid but nothing lingers. This is a crowd-pleasingly big beer but, probably, lacks complexity.

Do we need another plum porter ? In fairness I chose it so can only judge it’s quality (it’s good and it’s plummy) but does every pub that won’t sell Titanic have to brew its own. Maybe that’s the highest compliment ? But more plum than porter ..
