Opal Series: Spring Saison

Brewed at the Propagator. Opal was a mainstay in our Proprietor’s Reserve series until being discontinued in 2015. Opal was a Dry-Hopped Saison, and was known for its assertive citrusy and tropical hop aromatics, unlike many representations of this farmhouse style. Inspired by the original, this is the first recipe born from the mind of R&D brewing manager, Ben Maushardt. Ben’s interpretation of the Wallonian Saison style is a harmonious blend of rustic grains, spicy yeast with a hoppy twist. The signature Saison yeast character is on display, with inviting peppery aromas & flavors melded with intense hop-derived notes of papaya, passionfruit and tangerine from the additions of Hallertau Blanc and Mosaic hops.
