Weizenbock W/ Virgina Maple Syrup

This unique take on a traditional German Weizenbock was brewed to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of our state slogan: Virginia is for Lovers. This is part of Virginia Tourism’s 50 Years of Love campaign, which included special experiences across the state between June and August. We brewed this beer with over 50 pounds of Murphy & Rude Soft Winter Wheat and 50 pounds of Back Creek Farms’ maple syrup. They are the only working sugar house left on Back Creek, an area which has been producing maple syrup since the early 1800’s. The syrup contributes a delightful sweet maple character to the aroma, which also has notes of vanilla, banana bread, and subdued clove. The flavor carries many of those aromas with ripe banana and woody maple syrup coming through, but also has a more pronounced malt character that is nutty and bready. The beer is medium bodied with a touch of sweetness and spritzy dry finish. Show Less
