Memories of Monsters

This is the story of a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed new hop, Sultana was the name, and there was something truly peculiar about this newcomer to the beer world. Out in the middle of Yakima, near the better-known hops of Citra and Mosaic, laid this lesser-known hop, and such an unusual hop it was. A vast tropical profile; on one side a pineapple bomb with juicy notes of passionfruit and citron, on the other, catty notes of freshly plucked ganja and pine needles. No one around knew just how resinous this hop would get until one morning when a bag of Sultana took a spill into a scorching hot whirlpool and sank to the bottom, never to be seen again... or were they? Moments later a sheen of hop oil floated across the top of the wort, and to everyone's surprise but their own, Sultana took flight. Filling the air with a barrage of sweet fruit aromas, pineapples, mandarin oranges, banana runts, fresh grapes, passionfruit, and everyone's favorite... weed. But was that weed smell coming from Sultana or the skate park behind the brewery? This would require a whole new looking into.
