Enigma (2015)

2015 vs 2023. 2015 is past its prime for sure, but still tasty. Nice spiciness with a hint of cardboard. Tart, wood, funky. Hint of Belgian candy sugar. Actually gets better as you drink it. 2023 is sweeter & lacks some of the classic oak and funkiness.

2015 vs 2023. 2015 a little dead with a flat look but not bad mouthfeel. Deep woody Flanders red smell. That picks up in taste with nice deep woody tart notes. Nice deep rich thick Flanders red flavors to finish that rest nice. 2015 wins.

Mouth puckering sour. Good beer from Craig and Mary.

No head. Thick Oude Bruin nose. Chewy malts with tart cherry and wood. A little vinegar. Very deep cut oud Bruin with a slight acidic finish to its benefit. Such a deep heavy oud Bruin. So good. Better with this age and some malt caramelization.

From the way back machine. Sour brown/oud bruin and it is certainly sour. Get a bit of coffee, some way overripe fruit but mainly balsamic vinegar. It’s not what it was back in the day so not rating it
