We seized a small window of opportunity to source a small amount of an experimental hop called BRU-1 and we are so excited to share this with you! From looking at its flavor profile provided by the grower, it was clear than this was going to be a wild west of an IPA! We brewed the beer using traditional West Coast IPA methods and selected one of our house yeasts that is very light and fruity so as to allow the hops to shine. Bob Seger’s "Against the Wind" provided the soundtrack, and the name of this beer is pulled from it's lyrics.
The first thing you notice is massive pineapple on the nose. Fruit punch, melon and ripe pear on the palate and a lingering earthy bitterness and a bit of melon rind on the finish. This is definitely not your mother’s West Coast IPA! Show Less
